Heater problems

When I leave my Chim ticking over to warm up the interior with the heater, I notice that after a little while the heater starts blowing cold. Even with the engine up to temperature and the fans cutting in it starts to blow cold. It's not until I pull away and get moving that it warms up again. I would have thought that the water pump would circulate the hot coolant through the matrix regardless of whether the car was moving?

Sounds as if you may have an air-lock or low water level. Have you checked the level in the swirl pot (take off the brass screw cap when the engine is cold and have a look).
