at that price it's a good buy. I've heard it comes with more than one key!

Hi and yes the outriggers and chassis are fine, being an ex wedge owner thats the first question i asked!

Seller also has various other exotica!

And to be honest in his words "rather let somebody grab a bargain than mess around with it myself been in the garage two years"

therefore i'm so glad I was the first guy to ring him,he is a nice chap a doctor infact and he's had numerous offers again today over and above the asking price but as he told me i'm a man of my word and the cars yours Rob.

Hi All,

Well perhaps you can all tell me what colour it is?
Unfortunatley the car is 300 odd miles away from where I live, therefore I was forced to purchase unseen!(if I had'nt it would certainly have gone within the hour!) shock horror yes I know, the owner(ex owner now!)is knowledgable regarding the marque and has been very honest with the problems, and at that price with the tvr plate I think anyone would agree its a good price and I had to do it!!

Specialist car transportation has been arranged fully insured (awesome price!)and delivery is arranged for next week,I am so exited !! so's the wife!

The (ex)owner had 3 calls yesterday after he had agreed the sale to me on Wed evening offering him much more than his asking price and i'm so lucky he's a genuine guy and refused to let me be guzzumped!

My cheque for full amount is being banked right about now.

HPI report shows no probs and he is the fourth owner owning for 6 yrs.

Scrapping?Breaking? gimme a break here guys this is my dream car,i'm a qualified toolmaker/mech eng by trade and i guarantee that whatever this baby needs she will get.

Great forum by the way and no doubt many of you will be relied upon for valued opinions and advice.

Steve Heath 2nd edition bible on order from tvr club.

Regards to all, will report further when I have taken delivery.

Rob, Well done, I rang twice and texted this guy to say - yes Please!
What other exotica is he letting go for half price then?

Lovely colour - Starmist Green. I had one before the Tuscan, and I miss the V8.

If you need the roof re-making then take it to AJ trimming, I had a thread on here a while back, but heres the chaps details. You could pack the targa panel, and rear screen off to him. Its easy to fit. I think it was £300. Trimmed in green mohair. It looked nice!

I am sure your gremlins in the leccys will be through not being used. The prop sensor on mine went squiffy hence the speedo packing up! Give it a good clean, and wind it down a bit.

while your in restoration mode, the carpets are a satisfying job, £250 for the trimmed stuff.

Found the thread.

Anyhow... well done!!!

It was up for £4000. I was so excited this morning. I thought I was the "early bird"...

It looks like the headlamps might have corrosion on the reflective lens, as they look a little dark. fingers crossed its dirty lens and poor light. I broke one once, and its a fairly stright forward job to do.

Apparently TVR have been in contact with them to supply too.

I think I saw some on ebay too.

THIS WAS MINE - Brian Jones owns it now

I loved that car - I borrowed a gold plating machine from a mate who is a jeweller, and gold plated the TVR badge myself.

I thought I would be a little cruel linking this, as you have to wait.

Friday moning now, so I am hoping theres a nice green (fast one) TVR with Rob now!
Just a thought Rob, if there is old oil in it, for the cost of £25 change it for some fresh good quality stuff. You will no doubt want to make it sing. I

UPDATE!

Well the car arrived at 11.45 Thurs night on the back of the transporter

Owner had phoned me when it was collected by the transport company to say there was a problem with the gearbox and reverse could not be selected (major concern on my behalf)!
But car was on its way!(paid for with no mention of this problem) Asked him if it had the SD1 or Borg Warner box?

He was trying to find reverse below fifth gear! its an SD1 box he had forgotten where reverse was(next to first!)PHEW!(reversed her of transporter when she arrived no problem)!

Main initial observations at first light today.................

Chassis and outriggers look ok,surface rust evident only (at the moment)!

Headlights are shot need to order new(thanks for part number Justin)

Targa top like new, rear folding section needs replacing(looks like a great white has attacked it)......are these easy to change?

Inevitable stone chips, but not as many as expected.

Some laquer peeling evident on passenger door.

One wheel has been quite badly kerbed!

Speedo does not work (on sellers notes to me he says)"has had a new head unit and a new sensor must be the wiring" any ideas chaps?

Two front tyres needed.

And the cooling issue as stated in the advert, have ordered a new otter switch and thermostat (cool running kit) from Leven after reading a previous thread on here(thanks guys)

Veneer on lower dash section is peeling, main dash is fine, where can i get a replacement section?

He has also listed some minor electrical problems, but all in all so far so good, she is the basis of a very easy restoration job,and with the private tvr related plate, and expensive stereo system with multi changer in the boot i think i have been very lucky!

So a little bit of work to do over the coming months getting her back to her former glory.

No doubt i am going to be a very regular poster here,so in advance thanks very much and any advice is very much appreciated!

Cheers
Rob
