Engine mount advice please

Hi, hope someone might be able to assist me.
I am in the process of buying my first Chimaera. I have found a truly lovely car (only the 6th I looked at!) which I am planning on making an offer on tomorrow. Its a 98/S 4.0, full main dealer service history, treated chassis, everything. However...
I noticed when reading the last service invoice an advisory notice suggesting the n/s engine mount be monitored. It looked fine to me and at the same service they actually changed the o/s mount. Should this be a serious cause for concern? And how much is it likely to cost to have changed?
Any advice would be gratefully received. You'll be getting me out of a Lotus, if that's an incentive! Thanks in advance.

The mount is a standard Rover V8 part and costs about £15. You can DIY but access is tight. To change the nearside you need to remove the exhaust. That is actually very easy, it's six bolts and a clamp.
If you don't fancy DIY then your local garage should manage the job in a hour.
I'd ask the see the old part, it's probably fine. Mine were!

Yes, for such a low cost part it can do some damage; if its been flagged you're best advised to have it done ASAP. You'll see from the pics of mine in the thread above it has clearly melted; the one above the exhaust is sandwiched between exhaust and manifold. Not a place where long life could ever be expected! If I wasn't about to get the manifold and y piece ceramic coated I'd be wrapping the new mount in heat shielding.
