front discs? yawn!

its an old can of worms i no but its just a simple question honest! the front discs on my 5ltr (99 model) are 260mm but the depth is 53mm i've been running around all day trying to get a pair (seaira based) but cant get the 53mm depth only 58mm, now this is my question chaps my carrier bolts have 2 5mm washers on them so so am i right in thinking by removing them i could fit the 58mm deep discs and therefore keeping the new disc in the centre of the calliper or am i talking crap, i'd also need 2 smaller bolts for the carrier as without the washers there 2 long, and just 1 other thing the washers are factory and have not been added.

When I changed my discs a few months ago to Black Diamonds I had the same problem.
I just removed one of the spacers and they've been absolutely perfect ever since.

You're dead right, the only thing you have to watch is that the bottom ball joint carrier doesn't foul the disc inner face on full bump .. none of the cars I've done have, but tvr being tvr you never know!

thanks for the info guy's, brill, i'll have the old gal back on the road tomorrow now i no i can fit those deeper disc's without the spacers, not sure how i'm gonna check 2 see if it catches the disc on full suspension compression though but guess it;ll make a hell of a noise if it does.
