Power Steering upgrade
Discussion
Scruffy said: Bear with it a while fella, get your tyre pressures sorted - easy!! Get your suspension/shocks set up/upgraded properly - 'spensive. Get your brakes upgraded - 'spensive; and by upgraded, get the guys to do the work - drive it round and then say, 'it's too hard/soft, it feels like jelly/on rails (..ooer) but not as expensive as the 2K quoted for being able to park easier, get it set up for you.. - your car will be a much better driving machine.. Go on it's your go cart...
..unless it just takes from t'th' Golf course to Tesco's, carefully (though somehow I doubt it!!)
There's not much difference driving a PS Griff and a Rack and pinion Griff hard through bendy nice roads. Though the feedback from the non power is (very) slightly better.

Has anyone out there tried or completed a power steering upgrade. My car is a 94 Chim 500 non power and thinks I should keep it for a while yet having had 5 yrs happy speeding etc..I would probably use it more often if it was easier to drive in town.
Costs around 2 Grand as the rack is about £750, the pump is £250 Etc. If you can find a PAS rack that has not been undamaged in a crash you may be able to get the bits s/h but it is expensive.
