This is uncanny - I was just wondering if this could be an option for me.

I'm looking to upgrade to Cerby seats.

Is there a big difference in comfort, etc.??

Also, just for a guide, how much did they give you for your Chim seats, and how much did that leave you having to put towards the Cerby seats.??

Were your Cerby seats new.??

Easy to fit.??

Edited to add: Sorry for hijacking this post

IIRC, didn't the run-out Chimaera models have Cerbie seats as standard? One of the Cotswold TVRCC members had one - the last few were predominately (or all) 450s with faired-over headlights and Cerbie seats.

I remember when I switched from my Chim to the Cerb thinking the latter seats had far more side and thigh support than the older Chim design - think they take up a bit more space in the Chim though.

Hi There!
They gave me around £200 for the seats and I paid the balance for the Cerby seats. They were out of a Griff and just happened to be the colour I was after. According to Bell Hill the seats need a piece to be sculpted out of the side where they are next to the transmission tunnel to fit into Chims and Griffs, otherwise they will not fit straight in? Not sure if this is so but that is what I was told. They are much more comfortabel than the std seats, and have the 'bulb-type' lumbar adjustment as well!
Give Bell Hill a call they were very helpful, as I got my mirrors there as well for the conversion I did a while back. (Also highly recommended). See profile for pics.

I've got Cerbie seats in my Griff, dead easy fit, no mods required, better but still not great comfort/support, they're about an inch higher than the std Griff seats. So if you're 6'1" or over you're going to struggle especially with a helmet on

I was told by bellshill garage that the Cerb seats wouldn't fit straight in, but if you search on this and the Griff forums, there are plenty of posts from people saying that they do fit straight in without alteration. And of course they dropped these seats into the later Chim & Griff models.
