Woo hoo! Finally got my 4.3 Chimaera yesterday and really haven't stopped grinning since! That is despite driving home in the complete pitch black last night from Swindon because i didn't know where the button to turn on the dash board lights was. Quick phone call at the services helped rectify that problem though ... d'oh!

Loving every second, had two people come up to me on the street and say Nice Car mate. Never really got that in my Seat Leon, apart from all the chavs that is!

It's good to be here guys!

Cowheeeeed.

Just you wait until the long hot summer nights. roof down blasting through the lanes.
That to me is the ultimate driving experience.
Welcome and enjoy.

Ahhh well done. You did exactly the same as me, LCR to chim!
I did get a couple of compliments about the LCR but as you say it was from "yoof". Completely different driving I'll think you'll agree, just remember you have no longer got ABS, TCS, EBD, etc etc and the power goes to the other set of wheels

Was your LCR remapped? I had REVO on mine so it was running about 270bhp and 280/90lb torque.

As said you can't beat, roof off driving in the summer (or winter for that matter). You'll love it.

Nah didn't get it chipped because I knew I was going to be selling it at some point. Didn't go for half as much as i wanted, but was getting a bit restless for the TVR! Certainly is a bit different driving, trying very hard to be sensible, good to be back to no PAS - the LCR kind of drove for me I found!

Just need to find out how to get the roof off now. All good fun!

Cheers for the welcome guys!

You'll soon find yourself throwing the roof in the back at every opportunity. Many's the time i would be driving roof and windows down, and then a spring shower would appear so i'd simply use my left hand to spring the rear section back up and then put the windows up. Suddenly you are driving a "targa", and with the windows up you don't get wet and you don't get wind buffeting (until you have to stop at the traffic lights ).

Roll on the summer.

Great stuff Rob!

Hope you see you out and about someday.

Check out the Wilts website www.tvrcc-wiltshire.co.uk/index.asp - January's meet's at the Cross Keys, Wanborough near J15 off the M4.

edited to add - Take it easy with your right foot on these salty/greasy roads Rob - I had a 'moment' myself just before Christmas!

Cheers,
Paul

...

Get the roof own and blast down the lanes now you know where the lights are. There is no better thrill on a winters night than the smell of optimax on a country lane.
Be aware of mud and wet roads when driving on the winter

I did exactly the same when I picked mine up! Welcome to the fold - the problem now is your increasing petrol bill, because you won't be able to put your car keys down
