I have recently had an intermitant problem with the fuel pump not energising on ignition. Seems like a loose connection somewhere. tried it at the weekend and nothing at all having played with the connections underneath.
does any one know which fuse or shared fuse this is related to? as it is not obvious on the handbook.
Thanks

It is also controlled by the fuel pump relay in the footwell and by the immobiliser as well as relying on an ECU generated signal. There is also an inertia switche as well. The fuse is probably anything to do with ECU and ignition.

I had a similar prob recently - it may be one or both of the silver coloured relays situated close to the fuse box in the passenger footwell - apparently they don't like swimming in water!! ;-)

On mine there are two silver relays dangling off the loom, one of these has a blue socket and is the fuel pump relay. I don't know what the other one is. The fuel pump relay seems to be a recognised point of failure. If you're handy with a multimeter you should be able to confirm this by showing there's a voltage across the field coil but the contacts are still open.

Mine has started eating relays recently (not much fun at £20 a throw), I have a suspicion it's caused by an intermittant earth on the control feed causing it to open briefly (and hence burn out over time) but haven't managed to prove this yet. Anyone come across any latching indicators to show where there has been a transient voltage? I guess I could make one but I suspect a commercial one would work better and last longer!

Cheers,

Thanks for the advice.....I will check the silver relays which have been near recent water as following a change of door/window seals forgot to pinch the seal bottom of the door.
Never seen water like it!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 years of ownership allways dry!
