Before I put my Chim back on the road this springtime i'm tempted to get the wheels and grill repainted in a gold colour after seeing a Cerb in the same scheme which i thought looked very nice!

My Chimaera is in starmist green and i reckon gold goes well with it!

Has anybody seen a Chim in these colours if so what do you think,or in any case what are the members thoughts?

Would a DIY job be effective YES/NO? if yes special paint?

Will be interesting to get feedback, positive or negative!

Thanks
Rob

I saw a blue one with gold wheels, i.e. Subaru Impreza country. It looked awful.

I reckon only standard colour suits. But, of course, it's a matter of personal taste.

Interesting. Could look awful but on the other hand...

My old mini had gold wheels and it looked pretty cool. If you do it and it looks shite you can probably return them to the original colour? Have you tried messing around on photo shop to see what it looks like virtually?

Given that the gold badges look good on green cars IMO, I reckon a grill would look good too.

You could always do the grill in the colour you were thinking for the wheels - see how it looks and if you don't like it paint it black again - Little expense for what could be a striking combination.

I agree with pwd95 that it could do with being a bit brighter than the cerb. I might even have a go with the grill myself as mine has seen better days and needs a bit more paint. Not sure about doing the wheels too - but that is only my opinion.
