Advice on buying a Chimaera
Discussion
If she is serious then get a copy of the Steve Heath book about the Griffith and Chimaera and also search through all the threads on here as there are lods about what to look for.
As for reliability....TVR has a bad reputation from a long time ago. There ar elots of different opinions as with any car. I can only tell you about my experiences.....I have a 99 Chimaera and touch wood it has been quite good....usual 'wearables' such as brakes Tyres etc but nothing major. It has over heated twice and the coil packed up once......all in four years which is nothig really.
I'm sure you will hear a few people say they spent a fortune etc etc but you will find that with any make and any model really. The thing to bear in mind is that they are more expensive than your average Euro box to service and they can be expensive if things do go wrong. If asked if you should buy one or not, I would say DO IT!
