Guys

Sorry to be a bore (especially as this is my first post in this forum !) but wondered if i could canvass some collective opinions ?

After 3 fantastic years, I am hoping to shortly upgrade from an S3 to a Chim 450 (er, should have thought about that when i first registered my sign-on name a few years ago !!!).

Live in Zone 2 with a secure under-ground car-park. 30 years old and car is a weekend toy. S3 was $450 to insure on a classic policy with 5/- miles.

I realise i don't live in the best postcode and the chimaera is worth 3 times the S , but just wondering if there is anyone else out there with comparative stats to me ? ie central london, 30 years old and driving say 5000 miles, chimaera 450. Best quote i've had is $1090.

So far I've checked classic line, Peart, Heritage, tvr-insurance, Sunninghill, A-one, Norton and Lancaster.

Happy to go with it, but would be grateful to hear of anyone in similar situation to me and how competitive my quote looks.

Thanks in advance

David

I insured mine with A Manning when I first picked her up around 4 years ago. Cost me £475 at the time, but the following year with a claim, but with protected no claims, it shot upto 1300. Cheeky sods.

I'm 28, zone 3, car parked on drive, 6k per year & Elephant is about £800 p/a for a 4.0 (6 years ncb)
Swiftcover & Privilege were cheaper but wouldn't cover non-std wheels & exhaust.

Try A-Plan Insurance, speak to Anne-Therese. They have just given me a quote £200 cheaper than my previous policy + unlimited mileage!!!! Their telephone number is: 01635 874646
Lots of this in 2006:

Think I'm paying £850 for 12K miles, with 6 yrs no claims......28 years old (when I insured) but it's a TS postcode and is garaged.....privalage were by far the cheapest ( about £400 cheaper than Manning)

Privilege were by far the cheapest for me also (30yrs old, £550 with protected no claims, car on driveway) - go via their website though they wanted £200 more when I got a quote on the phone! Won’t touch cars with any mods though unfortunately.
