Boot wont open

Hi all Well i was of to midlands TVR meet today and went to fill chimaera up but the boot would not release no click, no nothing so there i was looking a right numpty at the garage and after much embaresment
came back home and now i have even less petrol,
So whats wrong
Sometimes if i lock it on the remote the drivers door wont open again and i enter from the other side and turn the shiney thing and this fixes it.
But whats up with the boot

Sounds like the first thing to try (once you get it open) is liberal dose of WD40 around the mechanism. As to getting it open, have someone apply gentle downward pressure on the boot lid (to reduce any drag on the mechanism) while you operate the boot release. This might help. I'd give the door mechanisms a quick squirt while you have the WD40 to hand. There was another recent thread about the wing mirror button not apparently releasing the door - might be worth a look at that since it described access to the inspection hatch for the mechanism.
