New Chim boy here, other than great fun what can i expect?
Discussion
Hi guys, just bought my first TVR - Chimaera 450, and wondered what problems i can anticpate or prevent. Bought from Fernhurst, who were absoluetly brilliant to deal with, and gave me great confidence that the rumours about reliabilty are nothing to worry about. I'm having great fun, despite the weather, and to get the best out of the car, plan to take a 2 day session with Ride Drive - any of you done this? Thanks!

Take it easy in the wet until you get used to it, otherwise it WILL BITE you, BIG TIME.
Above is the best bit of advice you could recieve so don't forget it.
welcome to the joys of TVR Chimaera ownership, i've had mine for 5 months now and still love it to bits.
it's the best thing i have ever done and can't understand why i waited so long to do it.
Glyn.
Took the full day Ride Drive course within weeks of getting my Chim, and it was the best thing I did. By the end of the day I had gained a lot of useful experience on what my car handled like. This would have taken me much longer to find out had I not done the course. Welcome to Chim ownership!

Nope, take it easy in the wet EVEN WHEN you've got used to it...
Enjoy the grin and get a bible, clean the stepper motor, button by the left knee etc...
Thanks Jim, about to order the bible, and have a healthy fear of the wet (probably rabid!)

Thanks Ramon, i'll hopefully do it on dry roads. I see you are in Midlesex, where did you do the Ride Drive?

Now post a pic!Your biggest problem will be lack of money. You'll want to drive it everywhere. - You'll damn well want to live in it. - And the problem is they like the expensive stuff, 98 Octane. Hit 4000 revs in that baby and you'll never want another engine ever again. V8s and Tivs are VERY addictive. I am, as we speak, wondering which organ to sell to pay for a Griff... This is you in your Chimp -->

yeah, you need to be aware of this one... only feed it optimax, mine doesn't like anything else, 19mpg at the moment .. and that's gentle.. i concour with the comment about 4000 rpm but, would hasten to add that they really sound good after 4500rpm. i use mine daily and at weekends and holidays and i dream about it and i keep lap dancers in the boot to stop the tail slipping out after 4500rpm (which it will do) breakingggg from high speeds can result in in stepping too.. your back muscles will grow if you drive it like i do because you need to hold the wheel to resist the G's... enjoy taking out all the boxsters you could of had for the same money.. find a 911 and
