2 quick and easy questions (i hope)

1) Yes but not on a regular basis!
2) Sounds like you've upset the parking switch in the motor (assuming you're talking about the terminals in the motor and casing, not the switch in the cabin. Check none of the wires are shorting out against eachother and that non of the copper tracts (if youve opened up the gear housing) have debis that could short.

T_aldridge said:As has already been mentioned, the official line is that you shouldn't bump start it.This is due mainly to the fact that your sending unburnt fuel into the cats.In reality the odd bump now and again doesn't usually do any real harm i've found. The battery is located in the passenger footwell behind an easily removeable(pull it)upright carpeted kickboard
yeah, i meant termials on motor. I will double check terminals, thanks.
I have heard it isnt best to bump start it but how can i get it going otherwise? normally i would connect the battery from my other car but where is the battery? am i blind or is it not under the bonnet?
thanks.
