Is it common for Chimaera's to have an innacurate speedo. Mine seems fine upto 30mph but then becomes very innacurate. A speedo reading of 65mph is actually 50mph and a reading of 90mph is actually 70mph. I am assuming this is to do with the sensor on the diff - can anyone advise how to adjust this? Also I have read that this could cause idling issues - is this likely?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers

Mine does the same, had it checked by TVR dealer and it's around 10% high... not all bad news, it keeps me on the safe side of the law.

I had a RoadAngel fitted recently, and found my speedo is barely out at all. At 50 it overreads by 1-2mph. On my private race track, 90 is 4-5mph over.

Maybe the speed sensor is on one of the front wheels, coz they do need changing, whereas rears are fresh. I heard speedos over-read to cope with tread wear, so when tyres worn out, indicated should be nearer true speed.

Don't know if true, but sounds sensible... Jeez, I've bored myself to sleep

I had this problem and changing the sensor made no differance. I had to remove the speedo and then send it off to have a adjustable board fitted so I could set it correctly. It now reads 5mph over at all speeds, which is still not correct (it should be 10%) but I like it.
