I think I have developed an air leak where the Plenum is connected to the inlet - slight misfire at low revs

It looks like it has been sealed using sealant - is this correct or should it have a gasket ?

Thanks in advance
Chris

It's sealed using a silicon type sealant.

Hylomar is one of the brand names.
