How long is your dipstick tube?
I'm asking this because the tube on my engine doesn't seem to be all the way into the block - hence I'm thinking I may have too much oil in it!
The tube has a collar on the bottom of it and this is not against the top of the hole in the block - should it be? The tube goes down inside the exhaust manifold, and the 'collar' is It is jammed against a ridge on the block about an inch above the dipstick tube hole. Does this mean I’ve got an inch too much oil in it (It did seem to take more oil than I was expecting when I filled it after changing it recently).
