Anyone know from what car the steering rack gaitors are from?

Done a search and seems people have used universal ones. I replaced them less than two years ago with gaitors supplied by a TVR dealer and i paid something like £30 each. They are now perishing and wont pass my MoT next month.

Given that the TVR supplied gaitors dont last long, i see no reason why not to use cheaper universal ones.

cheers

I've used the universal ones that you glue together on several cars over the last few years, both for drive shafts & steering racks & never had a problem.
They work & you don't have to dismantle anything!
What more can you ask for.

Hi poopeet,
Where did you get the univeral gaitors from and what's the part no? Any other details what you can offer on this is greatly appreciated e.g. the type of glue, the most important steps that need to be completed...
Sounds like this could be a DIY job and save me couple of hundred £££

Most car shops & motor factors do them. They come with every thing you need inc glue, grease, gloves & knife. You just follow the instructions.
If you like I'll have a chat with you about it when you have got them. email me.
Pete

Of course the grease is only used for driveshaft UJ's!
