Electric wing mirror motors dont work
Discussion
Right my wing mirror motors wont work. Have just put the drivers side back on after a nice wing mirror casing respray
but:
> Neither wing mirror glass will adjust.
> 10 Amp Fuse in passengers side footwell is good. It is the same fuse for the boot release and this works fine.
> I took the door panel on the drivers side door off in the summer could I have forgotton to reconnect the adjustment button?
> Please dont tell me that the door panel has to come off again. I had fibreglass rash up my forearm for weeks after the last time! What else can I check Before I do this?
Cheers

Does the relay make nice clattering noises when you try to adjust the mirror? If not, your problem is inside the car.
I have the same rash Alex - window trouble in my case.
It is possible that you have managed to catch the wires to the mirror motor and short them out. I did this with my door release button wires a while back (door flew open whilst I was on the move !!!).
The only way to check that out though is to open up that door again....
Have fun.

You could take the glass out then unscrew the motor assembly. Use a voltmeter to check if you have any power going into the mirror.
If none then go under the dash from the drivers footwell and find the mirror ecu ( a black box about a bit bigger than a fag packet). Its held on with 2 cable ties on the Griff. Check if there is power coming out to the mirror feeds/from the joypad - sorry - I can't remember the wire colours - but I could look up for you if you're still struggling.
The problem is this is all taking you back to the fault being the connectors to the joypad. In which case you might be quicker just taking the door panel off in the first place.
Good luck!

Thanks for you help guys
I took the door trim off and the connector to the joy pad thing was not connected. Works fine now its plugged in. I think I might have forgotton to connect it when I last had the door off. Guess the moral of the story is if you take the door panel off check your mirror controls before you tighen up the bolts.
Happy xmas
cheers
