OK, not sure if these pics are going to help or not, but here goes anyway.
First one is the nekkid bolster. Note how it is one single U shaped piece:
and here it is slotting into the centre console:
underside view of the two fitted together:
Here I am prising the bolster away from the console and you can see the (grubby) indent where it normally presses:
A shot of the underside from the rear. Note the inception date of my car!
Here's a little sequence hopefully showing the two slotting together at the front:
Here's an underside from the front. In the centre of the pic you can make out the two protrusions which sit onto the transmission tunnel to locate the bolsters at the front
And one last shot showing the rear slightly separated. You can see the holes in the underside of the console/key tray, and the corresponding holes in the bolster base. These two screws, plus the two you can see at the front of the console, are all that hold both parts in place; there are no other screws/nuts/bolts fixing the console and bolsters.
I was going to take of a couple of pics of how these fit onto the car but its a bit dark in the my garage, and the battery ran out on the camera trying to use flash.

Hi Andy! I have started - the crank is in the block, trial build only. I had a spot of bother with the centre main, nothing a carborundum block couldn't sort out though. I just need to measure end float now to make sure there is enough clearance.
Still really busy with work at the moment though, so finding time to get out there is hard. Still, I may get paid for something soon so the pressure will be off a little!
I stupidly scored one of the cam bearings removing the cam - they are soft buggers aren't they! Looks like I'll have to get another set. Any chance of you knocking up another set of those plastic bearing presses you made for your build?

Best of luck with the engine rebuild.
Hopefully it won't rain today as i have the parents coming over and i want to take the old man for a spin, he has not been out in it yet, he was a mega car buff in his day and garage/dealership owner, he still has motorsport mags from 1960's at home so i know he will like it.Thanks
