Fault code reader - multple codes......
Discussion
Has anyone with a code reader managed to get it to read out more than just one code?
I have been experimenting and I've found that if a new fault is detected then this seems to overwrite the previously displayed code (e.g. I can create code 14 by disconnecting the coolant temp sensor, and then create code 12 by disconnecting the air flow meter). Using the instructions I’ve found on the web, about turning the ignition on, disconnecting the unit for 5 seconds, turning the ignition off (waiting 10 seconds or so for the relay to drop out) and then turning the ignition back on again just brings up the same code... Shouldn't it bring back the previous code?
Toby.

More specifically - you disconnect the reader for 5 seconds and then reconnect all while the engine is running to tell the ECU to move to the next fault code.
Switch off, wait for relay drop-out and then restart with the reader connected.
The next fault code will then be displayed. If there is only one fault then the code will not have changed. To clear all fault codes you need to disconnect the ECU to reset it.
