Exhaust mods.... best way forward

Hi. I've been after tweaking my exhaust for a while to make it sound better. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on this....

I've heard that just giving it a damn good clean out improves the sound a hell of alot. Is this true?

Also, can anyone tell me how much the Offords Cherry Bomb conversion is, and how it would affect MOT etc?

Sorry for all questions just want to get this right for the summer....

Price is £140 plus VAT (this was 8 mths ago though) and won't affect MOT emissions, only removal of the main CAT will do this.
They did mine on a Saturday morning, dropped off at 9, hooned about in one of the Saab clunker courtesy cars and returned at mid-day to pick up.
Pops and bangs on the over-run are fantastic but it's not so loud it deafens you on long runs.

Offords are based in Offord Cluny in the cambs region not thet far away from St Neots you can find a map on their website. the conversion is well worth considering it is fantastic!
Zippee's Chim is one of the loudest i have heard!

Is the cherry bomb conversion exclusive to Offords?
Does anyone know of a similiar offer up North?

Spoke to Austec today and its £120-150 plus Vat to get the straight through conversion, just need to get a free Saturday now and...

So what's the best option to go for? What sounds the best? Offords or the Austec straight through conversion?
