Hello chaps,

Car was running like a pig a couple of weeks back, throwing fuel out the back every time she started, but running like a dream once up to temperature.

Suspected the old ecu coolant temp sensor so popped down to the local motor factors and got an Intermotor 55128 (Lucas SNB802 equivalent part apparently).

Put that in and she drove like a dream... for a week. Then, last Sunday, another cold start, and she flooded out. I had to pull the plugs and gas burner them, then wire brush them and put them back in - once she fired she was doing the same again, throwing fuel out like there's no tomorrow and no such thing as global warming. Again, once warm, she's running like a dream.

So i though okay, the intermotor part is obviously (to quote Catherine Tate) "a load of old sh*t", so i have spent half the afternoon trying to source a genuine Lucas bit (rather than a pattern part) but TO NO AVAIL!!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Even my local Lucas specialist is trying to palm me off with that Intermotor 55128...

Thanks for any sympathy/advice/similar stories.

Just tried DTA, they said they don't use the LUCAS one anymore, they have an equivalent Bosch part, 02 80 13 00 26

Any more for any more? Or do the rest of you use the intermotor one?

I got a Sagem equivalent from a LR dealer. Seems OK.

Got mine from Racing Green at Ash Vale. May not be too far from you.

Overfueling may be caused by a faulty ECU not pulsing the injectors or pulsing them for too long.

Try this www.pistonheads.com/sales/64328.htm if you want to.

Racing Green sounds like a plan, i could pop down there at lunchtime.
My local CAF is ordering me another Intermotor 55128 to try (only a fiver) too.

Oh, and LSUK supply Intermotor 55128 as well, or at least my local branch of LSUK does.

Well, you guys were right, i went to Racing Green at lunchtime, grabbed a Sagem 75533 (i think that's right, or maybe it was a 73355) for £20, and then dashed home and put it in the car - hey presto, it has been running like a dream all afternoon

Thanks everyone for advice and suggestions. I will pick up a spare at some point, after all the nightmares i've had it'd be nice to keep one handy in the toolbox (with a set of plugs, a serpentine belt, etc.)

Cheers

Nope, my local LSUK (Reading) said they only do the intermotor part now. Cheap (£5), but cr*p.
