I have been told by a reputable specialist that the fan operation on my '93 chim 4.3 is correct in its current operation: - one fan kicks in at approx 85-90deg to control heat soak, 2nd fan joins in at around 92deg to help!

The fuse box agrees with the diagram in handbook & one in bible, however I have an additional relay next to the supposed 'fan' relay.

The specialist syas that they remember some early cars being wired up by the factory in this manner, but I cannot find any written evedience.

Nothing wrong, car runs like a dream, never overheats, just wondered if anyone else can confirm the above being supplied from the factory??

(This car does not have any after market fan mods and my other two chims did not operate like this) When testing fans from the otter, both burst into life

Thanks

I've never heard of that being done by the factory.Modwise have done this mod for a while now though,so perhaps it was a modwise kit installed by a previous owner?

The modwise kit kicks both fans in (at half speed at your own setting) and then the standard setting overrides at full speed as per prior to installing Davids kit (on our cheapskate kit). The more expensive kit you can set when the half spped and full speed kick in.
