Went out for a burble this afternoon. green light on so I knew it was dam cold, but blue sky and sunshine, so what the hell, take the roof off. First time since about October. I had forgotten how good the soundtrack is without the top on.
Roll on the warmer days.....

PS I must admit that after about 30 miles and the "orange" light now on it went back again pretty rapidly!

Had the roof off a few times so far this year, it is easy to forget how much better they sound! (going to be a lot more after the rear silencers get removed on wednesday )

Whats with the traffic light effect? My "frost" indicator is just red and it's either on or off. Is this unusual? 97 450

There have been previous threads covering the ice warning lamp. I made up a variable resistor on a long lead to test my '98 450 and even with a very sensitive adjustment the lamp is either off or red!

Cheers

Razorman,
Ice warning lamp on my 2000 450 Chim goes green= jolly cold, orange=even colder, then red= brass monkey weather, probably time to go home with the roof on.
My mates 98 400 does the same.
I think it goes green at about 4-5 degrees if the temp indicator on my Peugeot is right. Don't know about the temps for going orange or red, because by then it's too cold to ponce about comparing them!

I had my roof off for the first time ever about 3 weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon - nothing to do with the weather though.

Went to B&Q and bought a 3 section loft ladder, thinking I could lie it on the passenger side.

Had to take the roof off to get it in.

Luckily for me it was dry and sunny, although I couldn't feel my ears when I got home
And my receipts and cleaning cloths were somewhere down the M602.

But it's certainly wetted my appetite for roofless motoring and I can't wait for better weather.
