Hmm, much as they do a Z rated, I would be careful with regards to having them on the car in snow or ice.
I Googled (as you do)and found this on a US site-

Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Tire priced from $174.00 to $297.00. The Potenza RE050 is an Ultra High Performance Summer tire designed to complement the performance of sports cars, sports coupes and sport sedans. While the Potenza RE050 is used as Original Equipment on the supercharged Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG sedan, a Potenza RE050 Scuderia version is used on the 12-cylinder Enzo Ferrari supercar, and a Run Flat version is used on the BMW Z4 sports cars and 5-Series sedans. The Potenza RE050 was developed to provide good traction along with responsive and predictable dry and wet road handling. It is not intended to be driven in the snow. On the outside, the Potenza RE050 features a high grip tread compound molded into a directional tread design. A continuous center rib, large tread blocks and stable shoulder elements provide responsive handling, high-speed stability and traction on dry roads, while circumferential and lateral tread grooves are aimed to pump water out from under the tire's footprint ... Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Tire
Only $174.00

Good luck.

You could have looked at www.bridgestone-eu.com/bfe/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=a4d2f5ee10355010VgnVCM1000005101a10aRCRD&vgnextchannel=000000000000000000000000000000000377RCRD
As for summer tyres this is tyre industry speak for a normal tyre. It's as opposed to all season or winter. You'll find that all TVRs are fitted with summer tyres as are almost all other cars. This particular tyre isn't going to be the best in the wet. Snow? lol

I have them and they're fine. As for driving in the snow? I'm in Iraq and the car is in the UK, so it's no problem.

I'll be back in a couple of weeks, is it still rubbish over there? Its 25-30 here, would be perfect for the TVR if the roads weren't full of holes.

Looks like they could be a lot worse with that tread pattern.

You also have to remember that all the big manufacturers give the US different compounds to what we get in Europe, so a "summer" tyre in the US may well be worse than a sports tyre here for grip, but better for wear.

Thank for the feedback

Bought the tyres for good all round performance, need to provide good traction on the dry and wet road.

As has been said, "summer tyre" means normal as opposed to winter tyres etc. I have them on my wife's Spider 3.0 V6 and they are fine, indeed I might fit them to my Griff 500 this year. Either Bridgestone REO50's or Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's Rich...
