Hello All, I am interested in your views...
Am considering trading up my Chimaera, and wonder what you guys may think it's worth...it's a bit of an unusual case......
It is a 4.0, '98 on an R plate and has just passed the 9000 miles mark. I have had it 6 months or so, and bought it from someone I know - who bought it from someone he knew, and can verify the mileage. The issue being that the handbook and service history were both lost in a house move - so I can't "prove" the mileage, except that I know it to be ok!!!??
It runs perfectly - well sits in the garage most of the time - but when called upon, it is fantastic....feels very tight...everything works (even the windscreen wipers).
I know there are differing views on whether it is good or bad for the car to be in the warm most of the time...but I would have thought for someone's first forray into TVR it would be perfect...
Anyway - just interested in what you guys think??

Cheers!

My finger in the wind valuation would be about £13k as a private sale.
But a lot of people are going to be put off by the lack of documented service history.

Can't the friends in the ownership chain remember where it was serviced? If so, a call to those dealers should uncover service records ...

The low mileage would put me off and without the service history to prove that it'd been serviced at least annually I wouldn't touch it.

Would it be possible to the OP to get duplicate records / confirmation letter from TVR to prove the history?

I'd estimate the value at just under 13k if you can find someone who's willing to take the history on trust.

The service cards 'should' be sent back to the factory after each service, so in theory the Factory 'should' have records of it's last 8 or so services.
I think they make a charge for looking through the files, but if it adds a grand or so to the value of your motor it's money well spent.
