Ok I know there have been many threads regarding this question, I have tried the search icon but I cant get it to work.

I intend to upgrade my wheels to 17" and I would appreciate it if someone could answer the following questions.

1) What is the maximum width front and back on 17" RIMS
2) What is the required tyre sizes
3) What is the offset front and back

Sorry to be a pain but I would appreciate the help.

So many options. You might sat that the standard package is 17x8" wheels with 30 offset all round, 215/40f and 245/40r. Then you get variations; are you willing to have different wheels f&r?

1) rear 255 commonly fitted, large rim for 265
2) many options - stesrg has found a wide tyre to fit onto a narrow rim
3) 1"f 1.25"r (25&32mm) generally acepted although some posted different as original alst time, lol

Not exactly sure what off sets we originally went for in the end and it has been so long since I ordered then?

However Steve Turner who is the supplier would know his number is 01560 321977 and he will have the answers

He had a number of TVR Chimaera wheel options to sell me the Revolution Millenium is a brand new wheel that I am being told will fit a Chimaera.

Wheels are due to arrive any time now!!!

Tyres where Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Z

Hope this helps

I've got compomotive mo's Fronts 17x7 et 28 with 225/45 tyres - rears 17x8 et 35 with 235/45 tyres, I think it would take a much wider rear though. No rubbing on the fronts so far.
Off subject but I've got Yokohama A048's (road legal track tyre) and the dry/slightly damp grip is very impressive compared to the toyos I have on the original wheels (which were 245/45/16). It really doesn't need a wider rear with these tyres as they grip so well. I don't tend to use the car when its raining so wet grip won't really be an issue.

Do you have a pic please ?

I have 17"s with 215/40's on them and an offset of 45. The one major thing to consider here though is that what fits one Chimaera may not fit another one, and indeed what fits one side of a Chimaera may foul the bodywork on the other side as these cars aren't all perfectly symmetrical(sp?) either.

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks everyone for the input, its quite amazing how much variance there is in the offsets that is used. Would the offset have an effect on tramlining?

I've got the black ones, they also do silver, dark grey and white, they also do a 6 spoke one in the same style.
They have a high magnesium content so are quite light for their size.
Getting different offsets front and rear not a problem.

Hi - just wanted to give everyone an idea of the wheels that 'argoose' has purchased from us:

That's the new for 2006 Revolution Millenium, and is being supplied in 4x108, 7.5x17 and 8.0x17 for the Chimaera. Offsets are ET35-40. There should be pics of them on the car in a few weeks time.

Steve.
