Tried to start car this morning - no whirring of fuel pump. Played around with 2 silver relays which were not clicking. Fuel cut-off switch OK and tested for 12V at fuel pump on start-up - no power. Back to the relays - I'm not sure that I have put them back on the right flying leads. Before I get replacements tomorrow can anyone provide a description of the right flying leads i.e. socket colour and wires/colours.

Many thanks
Darren

Morning mowog.... I recently had the same problem and seem to remember tweo relays and two flying looms. One affected the fuel pump the other could be heard to opperate the stepper motor. Both relays are the same and only cost about six quid so replaced both even though only one was faulty. To check it is the fuel relay open the relay case. Turn on the ignition and manualy opperate the contacts.( It is obvious what i mean once it is open.) They look like a set of old ignition points!!!. If the pump primes its the relay. If not its more involved or a bad contact at the pump.... Be warned.... DO NOT LEAVE THE RELAY BRIDGED.!!!! THIS WILL ALLOW THE CAR TO RUN BUT IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT THE FUEL CUTOFF WILL NOT WORK AND THE PUMP WOULD CONTINUE UNTILL IGNITION IS SWITCHED OFF.Also the pump will not self prime and stop, it will try carry on either damaging the pump or blowing a fuel line. Only bridge contact as a test.!!!Steve.
