Bought it early December and used daily since. Had it into Ian at Middlewich who reckons it's a good buy. It's not the most perfect and there's a few jobs that will need doing (Ian did me a list) but I negotiated a good enough price to cover most of these.
Didn't help some muppet knocking my driver's wing mirror off a few weeks ago, but I was even given a spare unit with the car so just the painting to take care of.

May I ask why you didn't end up buying it yourself?

hi roy
glad to hear it`s going well for you no doubt it`s put a big smile on your face, i know what you mean about the few jobs that needed doing my main concern was the n/s manifold gasket that was blowing, i was intending to take it to david batty if i went through with it.
as to why i did not go for it i decided i would offer 8k which was a grand less than he wanted at the time intending to allow up to 9k to put everything in order with a bit spare for the unexpected but then started to have second thoughts about being able to really afford to run it as an only car due to the fuel costs and an extra service a year i did think about getting a little cheap buzz box as a runabout for work (only 5 miles away)and local stuff and keep the tvr for serious driving but i could not afford to insure 2 cars so i decided to wait another year or two before getting one, he did make it an even tougher decision when he dropped another grand though i must say, i`ve now got a bmw e46 coupe more sensible but not as exciting obviously
thanks for the reply regards chris
