I know every single Chim driver is out the road having fun this Easter (except me); but when any of you finally get bored with the feel of the wind rain in your hair and check PistonHeads any chance of some radiator advice?

A mere ten or so days after posting what a lucky git I was having had nothing break on my Chim for two years I find a pool of antifreeze on the garage floor on what some people call 'Good' Friday.

Any avdice on web based suppliers that can by relied upon to supply a new one pronto?

As I may as well replace all the hoses as the rad's coming out; are Silicon Hoses worth the money?

Last but not least.
Replacing the rad yourself, any drawbacks if you're armed with the bible and a good toolkit?

You might want to consider having yours refurbished (£90 to £160), as some of the after market ones have slightly different fixings which you need to buy a conversion kit for.

I replaced my radiator last week. It cost £140 to have it recored at the local radiator refurbisher. I was pleased that it fitted straight back in as I've read here that the width can change if the wrong core is fitted.

The bible says take the bonnet off but I think it must be referring to the Griff. I left my Chimaera bonnet in place and didn't have any problems with access.

My tip is to put an old rug over the front of the engine so that you don't damage the fans and rad when you remove/refit them.
