Can anyone advise me on the best lubricant to use in the bellhousing to get rid of the creaky clutch problem. I have tried wd40 but to no avail. I previously had this lubricated by my local garage but would like to get it done again this weekend. Any ideas? Thanks!

Definately in the bell housing and not on the pedal itself?

Hi Soufriere , you may find its the rubbers in the slave cylinder.

G-day Richard. I think it is the bell housing as it is the same noise that was cured previously by lubricating the release mechanism in the bell housing. However i did not do this myself only passed on info from a pistonheads post to the garage.
Hi Andy! If it was the rubbers on the slave cylinder would this mean replacing them or lubricating them. When you had a similar problem and lubricated what did you use and what did you lubricate! OOH ERR!!!

Hi Mike
Mine seems to be fine if i leave it for a few days , no squeak, but then after 10-15 mins it starts to squeak .I think new rubbers in the slave would cure the problem , i have changed the fluid which has helped a little. But sometimes with other cars i have had with hydraulic clutch mechanism it can just stop squeaking all on its own and not when it it starts to leak !!.
So i am taking 'the hope it goes away approach'at the moment !!.
