I know they are shunned, and admittedly look rather silly on some motors, but i am going touring across France later in the year and would like a stone chip prevention measure. I have seen the Clear film advertised in the US, is there a Black bra type effort available for the chim, or is the film the only option, and if so where can i get it fitted.

Clear film would be Armorfend, (sp)

Don't think there is a bra available for a Chim, only ever seen Beetles and MX5's wearing them.

I had armourfend fitted www.armourfend.com also can be done by www.xpeleu.com/ they both use the same 3m film though the kits are slightly different. Price is around £400 fitted for the front.
It really does the job.

There was something in EVO this month with one of the Staff cars (a Lambo) which was getting some clear plastic sticky stuff stuck on.....dunno what it was tho, but he covered the front of the car in Vaseline prior to it being fitted to fend off stone chips! Might be worth a try if you don't mind it looking like a shed once it gets some dirt stuck to it? (Just for the period of your trip)

I think a 'bra' would be great for the days when you track the car
