HID converts?

Hiya, im thinking of buying an HID bulb kit for the chim, they are standard bulb fitment, but obviously the new bulbs also have ballasts which need wiring into the local lighting circuit. anyone know if the excess heat from the engine bay would damage the ballasts or connections? I have replaced one set of bulb connectors as the plastic mouldings melted which caused lamp failure on the standard H4 bulbs.

You shouldnt have any probs with heat protection.Mount the ballast boxes and igniters in the wings.
