cleaning stepper motor

please can someone tell me the best way to clean the stepper motor .the problem i have is when the car warms up the revs start hunting then the car cuts out,somtimes as i pull on my drive it cuts out.is this the stepper or something else.i have had the car for 3 years now and only done 400 miles due to this problem even though it is serviced the problem comes back.please help so i can enjoy my car.thank you jay
