OK this is getting a little old, sorry but I am trying my best to sort it out.....

This was the original problem www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=8&t=227855

Now after all the chuffing work I have done....I have put everything back together...and this happens ...I have around 8 litres of coolant/water over my garage floor......

I believe it is a core plug...The circular bit at right of the photo.......Is this easy to fix???? Is it a bog standard LR part..please any help.....

I have my car booked in for a new rear screen next Saturday.it has to be there!!!

Some git in there Chimp dared to pull away at the Dartford tolls giving it beans the other morning whilst I was in my BWM salivating on the window thinking....damn is that what I sound like...........

Oh FFS, you're really having a bad time of it at the moment aren't you!

Yes that looks like a core plug. In principle you can just tap one side of the plug in to spin it round, pull it out, and tap a new one in. Nothing hard about it if you can get at it, but a completely different story if you are at arms length down a narrow gap. From the picture it looks as if it is low down on the side of the block so hopefully you will be able to get at it from underneath. The core plugs will come as a set and aren't expensive. You only need to replace the one that is leaking, but if it has gone through corrosion you have to wonder what state the others are in.

The coolant looks orange, is that rust? You seem to have had lots of corrosion related problems with the cooling system - has it been run without anti-freeze for an extended period? That's extremely bad for an alloy engine.

PS if you absolutely need the car to be driveable by next weekend and can't fix it by then, I'd try sticking a bottle of Wynns in it, leave the pressure cap off and stick a few gallons of water in the boot.

Once again thanks Pete.....

The Anti freeze is actually that colour...A pinky orange colour almost luminescent..

I have managed to stem the flow from the core plug.....But will order some new ones today.....

Now I have a couple of more problems.....First is easy, one of the injectors is leaking from the top. I believe it is the 'O' ring as a small part of it fell out when I started lookng at it closer..... Again I am ordering today.....

But when I tried starting the car (before I realised that the injector was leaking) all I get is a click, I hear the fuel pump prime but it is not turning over...I used to get this problem before sometimes it would take up to 10 attempts before the car started. Could this be related to an alarm/immobiliser problem?? I have a meta alarm...

The sun is shining and I am chimpless

i know its no use to you at the moment but when you,ve fitted those core plugs as long as you use quality coolent & change it apx every 2 years, those things will outlast the engine, they always rot inside out.in fact Honda dont list core plugs as a spare part, because they would never be a problem.I never fitted any all the time i was a Honda technician,I KNOW I,VE GONE ON A BIT BUT I WOULDENT LIKE YOU TO HAVE TO DO THIS JOB AGAIN.GOOD LUCK,OH AND THEY DO SOUND THAT GOOD WHEN YOU PULL AWAY,HE HE..

The O ring seals are easily damaged, and it only needs a tiny spec of dirt under them to cause a leak. Take the rail off again and have a good look for any dirt or damage round the sealing face, make sure the injector has been installed to the correct depth (you can fit the retaining clips at various heights) and check the O ring seals are all in good condition. After you refit it, you might try priming the pump to check for leaks before you put the rest of the induction system back on.

On the starting problems, sounds like a classic sticking starter solenoid. Sometimes if you hold the key in the 'starting' position for 20-30 seconds it will suddenly spring into life. Worth checking that the switch wire to the solenoid is getting a good contact, it may be that the starter needs reconditioning but you might also consider the mod-wise wiring upgrade, especially if the problem only occurs when the battery has been left to discharge for a while.
