Now I have had some great days in my reasonably brief relationship with the chim but today was just fantastic.
It was a warm and sunny day so the roof was off first thing and I was out of town in the 'shires so there were plenty of A and B roads to enjoy. I stopped to check my tyres early on and while I was there a bloke in a MX5 pulled up and we talked about how great summer motoring was, while we there two young lads in an xr2i with a "zorst" pull up along side. When I started her up, one of them leans out and states "Thats a PHAT car mate" and as I back out reving the chim the xr2i driver tries to respond with the bean can fitted to the fiesta
All in good humour though and they seemed genuinely happy to hear the chim roar past when we pulled out onto the road with thumbs up and grins.

Was out pretty much all day hooning around and needed to stop for the inevitable fill up so went into Tescos to properly try the 99ron stuff. Firstly its 4p a litre cheaper than Optimax and secondly the chim really seems to fly with it in, there is a noticeable extra bit of oomph.

Eventually had to make my way home and the route I normally take was clear of the usual 30mph numpties, it was a warm evening, the roof was off and my grin was firmly stapled on. On the way back into town a bloke in a taxi seemed to get very excited upon hearing and seeing the chim. So much so he started taking photos when the traffic allowed!

To top it off my route back into town involves a trip down a very built up set of street and the noise reverberating off the buildings is amazing! The entire street looks and gawps!
For those that have not had the straight through exhaust mod, you really must!!

What with all the doom and gloom being bandied around just thought I'd share another great day in the world of TVR ownership.

Seconded. Peach of a day, and peach of a car to own.

We're lucky.

I agree!! Had a fabulous day yesterday. The roof was off all day, it makes you realise why you bought a TVR!!!

Have had a few days like that so far.......
Driving through my estate with kids riding there bikes as fast as they can so they can hear/see the car for longer.
Turning the car around to put it in the drive whilst there was 3 kids over the other side of the road taking photo's on the mobile phones then one of them decided he wanted a closer picture so he stood directly in front of the car to take a picture.
But then i get up today to go out in the Chim and after the glorious weather yesterday it's bl**dy raining

I had the straight thru mod on my 4.0 - I do miss that noise, its amazing.

The first time I collected it from David Batty after having the mod done I got onto the A3 and headed up towards the M25. I had been travelling at 70ish mph and hadn't noticed the noise too much. As I pulled up to the roundabout junction at the M25 I pulled up next to some sort of Subaru derivative (not sure which one, WRX possibly).

I thought to myself, Jees, his exhaust is loud! then when the lights went green, I engaged 1st, accelerated and realised it was me!!! ha ha I did laugh when I relaised, must have looked like a bit of a mad man!

Had my exhaust done bt Austec in december and i was peeing down with rain when i picked it up, but was the best drive in rain i have had in the Chim, when i got off the M23 and came through Coulsdon on the A23 i was laughing my head off at the noise on overun reverburating from the buildings and i had to stop to phone mrs hood to tell her to get ready because were going out for a drive
