As a benchmark for how much of an increase my new engine is over standard does anyone have any results from a fairly accurate rolling road for a standard 400 and a 400HC.

From what I can tell the engines were standard Range/Land Rover with a TVR spec camshaft, which to me would indicate around 170bhp at the wheels for a healthy one.

Much Appreciated.

Cheers Fella.

Hoping for somewhere in the region of TVR power figures for the new lump but would be happy with anything over standard.

These RV8's are nice to bolt together aren't they! Bit simplier than a Duratec V6 and only one cam to time in

P.S. Hows the charged beast going these days?

My Standard 400 produced 225bhp, (calculated flywheel figure), on Surrey Rolling Road.

... and my standard pre-serp 400 (albeit with pre-cats removed) made 237bhp at Power Engineering, which I guess goes to show that it's a difficult question to answer !

I guess you'd need figures from 2 cars on the same rolling road on the same day to answer that ?

My standard 400, as measured on my race technology performance meter, makes 183 bhp and 191 lbs ft at wheels , which i work out to be 218 bhp and 228 lb ft at flywheel.

Not too far from TVR's figures and not bad for a 12 year old engine (57k miles, new std cam at 51k). I do have uprated plugs and leads though.

Thanks guys. That's a good spread of different cars on different rollers.

Much appreciated.
