Probably covered many times here but I couldn't find too much on searching old threads.
I want to upgrade my Chim 500 brakes for trackdays. I've only really found the Tower View kits - the basic upgrade does look a bit basic though.
Anyone comment on their packages or recommend anywhere else to try (south-east area)?

There was an article in Sprint recently which described the main options. Basically, you need to be clear about what problems you're trying to fix. If you're getting into track days, the most common problem is overheating. I wouldn't assume you'll have trouble though, driving technique plays a huge difference and experienced drivers can stay on track all day whereas if you're enough of an animal you will cook even uprated brakes within a few laps. Things is, it's a bit of a catch-22 situation. You need to get on track to gain the experience, and you really don't want to have any doubts about the brakes while you're doing it!

If you decide to get better heat dissipation, there are loads of options depending whether you want a little or a lot of improvement. Starting point is grooved (not drilled) discs and good fast road pads with DOT 5.1 fluid, with brake ducts this can make a significant improvement.

The fronts are going to suffer most and if you're after a big improvement going for bigger diameter discs is the most cost effective route. That is why a common starting point is a 'big brake' front upgrade spacing the original calipers out. But as I said, don't assume you have a problem, just be aware of the issue and take care to preserve your brakes. Uprated brakes are very expensive fashion statement if you don't need them.

It's worth talking it through with your favorite TVR specialist (Tower View in my case) to see which option best suits your needs. If you're going for something extreme, Tower View can also do the 300+mm upgrades, floating discs, 4/6/etc pots, uprated rear brakes and so on. It isn't cheap mind you!
