Serpentine?

I am trying to get into the world of TVR ownership having admired these cars for ages. Have read all the useful topics on this forum which have really helped. I wonder though how preferable it actually is to buy a car with the later serpentine additions (finances allowing?)

A bit - the serpentine engines have better water and oil pumps. But it isn't a decisive difference, the overall condition of the vehicle is far more important.
