Hi all.
I am toying with the idea of changing my great Chimaera for a Cerbera!
Now my Chimaera is well sorted with no (touch wood) problems.
The issue I have is that I have seen and heard of some real horror stories with regards to the Cerbera!
Are there reliable ones out there as I don't want to buy a "money pit". I was thinking of the 4.5. The car would only be for weekend blasts.
I know it's an old topic but any advice from owners of both models would be appreciated. An interesting foot note - I asked a friend of mine who ownes a dealership that sells high performance cars, TVR's included, to look for one for me and he says that he does not want another one on his hands and would not like to sell one to me because of the trouble that he has had with a couple of them in the past.
Many thanks

I think on the Cerbera side of things the history is absolutly vital, It needs to have been serviced properly regularly by either a main dealer or specialist. Preferably get one which has only got one owner because one of the main things is how it was originally run in. If it was well used from day one and the breaking in limits not kept to then I think you could get problems in the future. Quite how you can check on this I am not sure but I guess if the owner has had it from new you could work it out by the type of person they were. My friend has a 4.2 Cerbera which he has had from new (1996) and he has had absolutly no problems with it whatsoever!!!!!, He also only uses it at weekends. I own a chimaera not a cerbera so this is all from what I have picked up of dealers/owners. I stand to be corrected but I don't think they are all nightmares!!!!!
