After weeks of banter between me and my business partner as to whos car is the fastest,
his 355 or my Chim.
Today we sorted it out once and for all,
1 circuit of about 3 miles consisting of duel carriage ways and single pretty straight
single lane roads linked by 3 roundabouts,

Who came off best

need you ask

Not complaining if it really is, but I can't believe a 4.0 Chim is truly faster than a F355? Difference in driver skills maybe?

Still, it does help remind me I don't want to swap the Tuscan for one

I wondered this. I was under the impression the 355 handled much better than the chimaera.

Still prefer to curvy looks of the chimaera though. Haunches...

I remember having a tussle with a Esprit a few years back in my 4.0HC,couldnt keep up with him,I had the power on the straights but soon as we entered a roundabout he was gone whilst i was sill trying to get myself together to come out the other side the Lotus handled much better like being on rails.

I had a dabble with a 355 on a straight road and I was slowly reeling him in so he gave in and slowed down. Mind you, it sounded stunning.

I can conclusively say that a Chim 450 is quicker than a 355 and a 512, and a Scoobiedoo p1, and a T350 (but I did catch him off guard) and a host of others that I've forgotten. All on private roads of course !

I doubt there is much at all between my chim and my Scooobiedoo wrx.. the chim would have it on the straights, but not by that much, and the wrx would leave the chim for dead in the corners.

Sorry to piss on yer fireworks bloke but, I had a T350 and now have a Chim' 450. The T350 IS a faster car. Chim' 'feels' quick. Same owner, same roads. Though, I really do like my Chim' and will be loving for 'lonng tiymme'.

Since I will be driving to Le Mans in my Chim 450 with a mate in his F355, I will let you know whether I can keep up or not!

For reference a Chim should handle better as it is a) lighter and b) has a better weight distribution due to front engined layout.

But the Ferrari would have much more expensive suspension components and much more extensive testing and development. As much as i love my Chimaera, i reckon the 355 would be way ahead in terms of handling.

eh! why on earth would Ferrari go to all the bother of building a mid-engined car? A quick look round the paddock at a race meeting may well help - some of you chaps appear a little delusional!

I love our Chym but would wager a great deal of money on the 355 being in a different league on the handling stakes.

Ok I take your point about the development but fact is:

1) The Fezza is heavier. 1230kg versus 1060kg.

2) The Chim has 50/50 weight distribution, the Fezza has 43/57.

It's got to count for something!

there is no way on gods earth that a chimaera handles better than a 355, sorry.
