Chaps.

I have two HT leads that seem to come loose. I've tried jamming the buggers on hard but a few hundred miles later the problem recurs.

Any tips?

Do I just replace the blasted things?

...and of a vaguely more serious tone IIRC something like Magnecors can be really tight, because they're a bit too small. Which might be a bonus for you (plus they're good leads!)

But I did used to find that (especially at the dizzy end) you need to stop footling around and keep ramming until they click on tight otherwise it was 4.2 litre V7 territory....

Some of the good plug leads seal so well that they can trap the air when you push them on, the pressure then pushes the lead off when they get hot. You can pull one side of the boot away slightly to let the air out. Then the seal works in your favour because the suction stops them coming loose.

Thanks chaps - useful.

Mind you - ramming one's sweaty mitt into the back end of the engine compartment whilst its seriously hot is something I don't particularly relish...been burned twice already...!

So. New leads it is...
