Hello again. I wanted to see if anyone could advise me on pedal adjustments on the Chimaera (99). The guy I bought it from mentioned something which I didn't explore at the time, and that was that the pedals are adjustable. I now find the need to adjust the position of them slightly but can't seem to find how to do this. Can anyone shed any light on this???

take a look at the pedal itself and you'll see that the 'foot' part is connected to the lever by a threaded bar with a locknut arrangement behind - undo the locknuts and wind the pedal in or out as required and re tighten the nuts.

one of the three pedals doesn't adjust like that ... the accelerator, I think ... if you ook in the footwell I think you'll find you can adjust where the axle, on which the accelerator pedal is mounted, attaches to its supporting frame. You may need to adjust the length of the throttle cable after that. That's pretty easy to do ... take a look at how the cable is attached to the butterfly wotsit on the side of the plenum. There's some adjustment available where the sheathed throttle cable is attached to the bracket on the plenum ... again, IIRC

If you want more adjustment, then Leven do stainless replacements that have extra adjustments too. Fitting is fun

So how does that change relative positions and heights then?

Rooman. One thing not made clear is wether you are long or short in the leg..... Do you need the pedals extending or moving away ???.... Thee is a fair bit of adjustment on the standard pedals and the accelerator can be easily bent. The leven set up with their extra long ones gives about another 2". And the accelerator arm is adjustable as well.

Thanks for all of the info guys. It is more a height rather than a length adjustment required. I am a size 11 shoe and it feels as though the pedals are right near the roof (and my toes are getting tired doing all the driving :smt088 ). They need to be adjusted down towards the floor.

That should do it!!!

Unfortunately they are right under the roof so my feet cannot go any higher - with or without wood!

Tricky one that as the adjustment doens't alter the heith much (although does alter the direction of travel a bit) You might find that by buying some of those "rally" style ally pedal kits that clamp over the existing pedals, you could clamp them so they sat a little lower down than the exsiting pedal. As they are IIRC quite a bit larger than the TVR pedals, the TVR pedal could be offset higher up behind the bolt on pedal on top. Just a thought.

Cheers,
Matt

On mine when you adjust the pedals they wind in and out by turning - and the bolt is off-set from the center. try half a turn and the pedals will be slightly lower?

Well on both of mine the bolt is offset from center left to right so you could space it closer or further from the pedal beside it, not top to bottom.

Adjustment is to achieve heel & toe driving by design on brake pedal only. Allows depression of brake pedal to equal level of accelerator allowing you to blip throttle to match revs on gear changing mid corner. Very easy to adjust with ring spanner.
