Air Filter maintenance

Hi.....any advice would be appreciated on maintenance of the standard foam air filter on my 4LTR Chimaera. Do I have to use a special cleaner or will petrol or spirit do the job. Also do I have to use special oil to re oil

If you go to a K&N supplier they will have the cleaning solution and the oil.

You can buy a new TVR filter for about £24 ready oiled!

or you can clean with jizer then hose out with water from inside out,use motorcycle foam filter oil spray,you can get this from many motorcycle shops K&N oil is better suited to fabric material,but any thing is better than a cloged filter.make sure you oil it though.but for 24 quid i would just replace.

Thanks guys.......sounds like a new one for £20 is favourite. I presume I will have to go to a main dealer for that?
