Hi,

Can anybody tell me how wide the black painted surround should be on the perspex rear light cover (post'97 4.0). Looks like a half inch but i'd like to know exactly.

I've had to remove the cover and need to repaint it as it all came off, and i cant measure the other side because i dont have the car here.

Would anybody mind popping outside to measure theirs for me (sorry if it's raining!!)

Cheers

This is going to be one of those 'they're all different' threads, so there won't be a 'correct' answer. Mine measure from 13mm to 21mm, 18mm in most places and painted in a smooth flowing line.

What paint did you use? Mine fell off after a year and I wondered if it is because the sikoflex was stuck to the paint only and the paint and cover came apart?

I masked the area and then used a grey scotchbrite to rough it up enough for the paint to stick. Hopefully the stickoflex should stick to the paint and paint to the lens (hopefully)

I used an acrylic matt black (tetrosyl) - looks good.
