Spoilers and speed ramps
Discussion
I had an annoying encounter with a speed ramp the other day. One of those irritating rubber ones that sit in the center of the road leaving you no choice but to stick one wheel on and one off or risk loosing your sump. Well one wheel on and one off didn't work this time, it still managed to catch the underside spoiler and rip it off.
I full intent to bill the council responsible for the offending road obstruction and was wondering if anyone else out there has ever made a similar attempt.

My exhausts feel the tendancy to clang and scrape when going over any bump higher than an inch!! Its got a Zertec sports exhaust (bigger rear straight pipes) fitted, and they hang a bit lower than standard ones. Anyone else had this and got a rememdy (other than avoid any roads but motorways?!?)
Edited to say..... see the picture on my profile to have a look and see what I mean....

I am pretty sure that you have a case, Any non-modified road car should be able to pass over any road obsticle i.e. speed bumps etc with out making contact, As yours could not then it is up to the council to refund you the cost of any damage and correct the problem i.e. the speed bump.
Not 100% sure but I think this is the case!!!
cheers

I've been abroad for a few weeks and when I arrive home the local council had 'barricaded' me in with HUGE speed humps. I've been to see them to see if they will check the height. Far too much for any reasonable car. What about the emergency vehicles too. Its been a bone of contention that more people die of heart attacks now because of the delay to ambulances etc, so they are counter productive.
I'll let you know if I have any joy. The Chimaera is a tight squeeze so a 350C will never make it over the top without damage....

I read that in London speed bumps have cut car accident deaths by 300 per year. But as it takes so long for ambulance to get to and from the scene there have been 800 extra deaths per year caused by them being there. So seriously counter productive.
Really [P 15 SES] me off. ITS A ROAD PEOPLE don't bloody walk on it or you’ll get run over. Simple! Maybe everyone should start driving on the pavement? No speed bumps there.
I would really like to hear if you manage to get anything out of the council as i like in an area infested with speed bumps. non on the main roads where the schools are but they are every 10 meters or so all over the rest of the area, and the one outside my house has a few big chunks missing from it. Not boding well for the introduction of a chimaera later this year.

I'm abroad at the moment, but have been 'promised' by the gadgie at the council that they would send someone out to check the heights etc within my three week trip away. My Chimaeras' tucked up in the garage at the moment, but I'll be getting a 350 later on in the year. Aint had a test drive yet , but the looks alone have sold it to me!. Just can't see the front end of that low nose getting over the humps without any tears.
I'm not going to give in on this one, and they will have to do something with them. I'm not the only bloke with a 'low slung' car in my area , surely.
