I know the car. Let's just say that if you measured the capacity of the engine you might get a pleasant surprise. It's also blueprinted IIRC.

I will have to check with Ravenscroft (should be up there next weekend) as to what was done to the car.

Now is the time I miss Dad more than ever

John Ravenscroft was TVR's engine guru.

AFAICR your motor is a blueprinted 5 litre. I am not sure how you can check this, but unless it's been swapped out since it left factory ownership then I'm 90% sure it's the case.

John Ravenscroft and Neill Anderson designed teh Chim and John prep'ed/built a lot of the Press Car engines.

It wouldnt surprise me if your engine got removed by TVR before they sold teh car, they did that a lot, you could check with they guys who re-built the engine as to what they did as that figure is nearer to a 500 varient.

No wonder it sounded so mean when Al parked it outside my house the other evening! Even my wife perked her ears up and said "that sounds like a V8"

You can always verify the figure by taking it to Jools or Vixpy and getting those guys to run it up on their rolling roads to see what it gives.

I need more details on the car to confirm. PM me if you want.
