My '94 Chimaera looks generally in good shape but I've wanted the detachable roof (targa is the term?) renovated for a while now. Just needs recovering I think. There are a few 'bald patches' where the fabric has been damaged by seagulls and the like.
Is there anywhere near SE London that could do this and how much should it cost?

With a bit of care and patience you could do it yourself - nice hat-trick by the way but cut out the dance routine.

I was quoted about £500 for a new roof fitted, but that was up in the midlands. Give A&R Pound a ring, they are up in Baldock (up the A1) but have a very good reputation. I will try and dig out the number for you.

I'm not as skilled as my goal-scoring namesake (even though I share the initial too) so perhaps I'll get someone else to do the dexterous work on the roof! Any email/phone number would be appreciated, thanks.

Pay about £120-160 for mid targa section only. Its only glued on at the edges & not a specialist job so any retrimmer can carry out the work

Apologies for jumping on this thread but can anyone tell me what fabric they use for the hood material?

Found it: 01462 892704

They should be able to do just the mid section, but if your roof is at all faded its going to stick out like a sore thumb!

There is a place called Autohoods in Chessington who will do a total retrim and fit using good quality fabric (better than original) for £750 inc. VAT (at least that's what they quoted me about 12 months ago)

I've wondered about this before and like the look... much hassle getting a durable finish?

What wheels btw?

I quite like the look of that too Andy.

Hmmm wonder what the yellow one would look like...?
If somebody ever came up with a 2 piece 'Summer' top roof for the Griff I would definately have it in yellow.
Sorry to harp on forgot where I was... I'll get back over to the Medallion forum..

TVR car parts quoted £525+VAT for a re-cover I think
