Took the Chim ('97 450) out to get some petrol last night, had a brief hoon on the way home, everything was fine. Parked up on the drive, let it idle for bit to cool down, then switched it off, then back on (but not started) to let the fans run (I usually do this before I put it in the garage). The fans switched off after 2 or 3 minutes and I then attempted to restart it to put it away. Nada. The ignition lights come on, press the immobiliser fob, the MIL light flashes, the fuel pump runs briefly, but it won't crank. It's not even trying - no click, no dimming of dashboard lights. Allow the immob to time out, retry, same. Lock and unlock it, same. Leave it for 5 minutes or so, same. Curse at length, go and have pint in the garden with SWMBO. Then a glass of wine. Some macadamias. Decide to disconnect/reconnect battery to reset immob, but before I do, try to restart it again, and this time it's fine. Curse a lot more, put it in garage. Try to restart it before retiring for the night, fine, and again this morning.

So, why wouldn't it start?
